Institute of Materials, Malaysia (IMM) is a non-profit professional society, registered with the Registrar of Societies since 1987. IMM promotes ethical professional practices, professional integrity, and education in materials science, technology, and engineering. Its membership exceeds 5,000 and includes engineers, academicians, technicians, skilled workers, and other professionals.
IMM’s Key Objectives:
- Provide training and development for individuals and companies in Malaysia to achieve professional certification and recognition across disciplines such as:
- Coating
- Corrosion
- Welding
- Vibration
- Asset integrity
- Promote research and development in these fields
- Facilitate collaboration between industry, research institutes, and universities
IMM is administered by a council of 30 members and supported by 19 expert committees and 4 regional chapters, with the IMM Secretariat providing administrative and operational support.
Training are conducted by Associate Training Partner (ATP), Authorized Training Bodies (ATBs), or Authorized Testing Centre (ATCs).
