To be listed as a recommended laboratory, the facility must comply with the following criteria:

Be independent and shall not be the manufacturer, supplier, designer or owner of the tested items, nor the authorized representative or a subsidiary of any of these parties.
Be free from any undue commercial, financial and other pressures which may interfere with their independence, judgement capability and integrity.
Possess a benchtop FTIR spectrophotometer for FTIR structural test.
Have at least one IMM certified Coating Fingerprint Quality Controller (FPQC) signatory personnel.
Be listed in the “Recommended list of 3rd-party testing laboratories” by Institute of Materials, Malaysia.
Be recognized by the owner for a grace period of at least 3 years. After the grace period, the appointment as the 3rd-party testing laboratory for Coating Fingerprint Certificate shall be made based on its accreditation by authorized body.

NOTE: Compliance to ISO/IEC 17025 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories is encouraged but not compulsory.
